Congratulations Lt. Wagner
On May 12, 2007, our very own black belt instructor, Greg Wagner was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Marine Corps. Greg has worked very hard over the last several years in every facet of his personal and professional life. Greg will also graduate from the University of Memphis this month, while in college Greg completed his boot camp and his OCS. Greg will go to Quantico, VA in a few months to finish up the remainder of his training before taking on his official duties as an officer. While all of us will miss Greg more than we can say, we are VERY proud of him. Sensei Promoted
In April, Mr. Wilson was promoted to 6th Degree black belt in Progressive Kenpo-Jitsu and Modern Kenpo. The promotion was held at his teacher, Shihan John Geyston's school in Illinois. The promotion was sanctioned and made official by Professor Larry Hilton, 10th Dan, of the Ketsugo Kai federation. Mr. Wilson will celebrate his 28th year in martial arts this year and is very proud of the recognition by people that he respects so much.

Good Luck Memphis Judo & Jiu Jitsu
Memphis Judo and Jui Jitsu have found a location and are opening up their own school. March 31, 2007 will be their last day of classes at MMAC. We want to wish Dave and the whole gang of Memphis Judo and Jiu Jitsu good luck on their new school. With the space downstairs we are going to be able to expand adult classes and maybe even add a new class or two.
- Congratulations Camron! Camron Sawczyn just passed her CST instructor exam. She traveled to Philadelphia to test under Coach Sonnon and the RMAX Head Coaching Staff and did a phenominal job. Camron out performed many of the men that were there! - Congratulations Mark! Mark Smothers finished The Turkey Trot, a four mile run here in Memphis. Mark completed the run in just over 28 minutes!!! Way to go Mark. - Mr. Wilson was awarded the WHSC Hall of Fame Master Instructor of the year award in May 2006. NEW DVD RELEASES FEATURE Sensei Mr. Wilson just finished production on two upcoming DVD Releases! He assisted his good friend and teacher (and fellow RMAX Head Coach) Brandon Jones in a video on internal Martial Arts called RMAX Powered IMA! It will be awesome and should be released very soon! Mr. Wilson has been recently featured on UPN channel 30 Eyewitness News on a special Sports segment. (View Video )
MMAC Chief Instructor Joseph Wilson is now an International Champion in the Sport of San Shou (video highlights). San Shou is Chinese kickboxing, and is a full-contact event where the fighters are allowed to punch, kick and throw their opponent. His last match was against a tough-as-nails fighter from Louisiana who out-weighed Mr. Wilson by 50lbs. Mr. Wilson was able to dominate both of the rounds and threw the bigger opponent 4 times in the final round alone. Mr. Wilson was honored to compete along side his Mentor/Coach and friend Coach Scott Sonnon (www.rmax.tv). Coach Sonnon won his division as well with a stunning third round knockout. Coach Wilson and Coach Sonnon have never competed San Shou before and are honored and proud to be the new 2005 International Champions of the sport.
